Dr.
McGougan, along with his wife, Laura, have served as Senior Pastors of
Victory Christian Center since May, 1999. Dr. McGougan also serves as a
Chaplain for Hope Hospice and as a member of the board of directors
for Gulf Coast Counseling and Community Services.
Pastor holds three
undergraduate degrees: a Masters Degree and a Doctoral Degree along with
significant Postgraduate studies in the area of Pastoral and Family
Counseling.
Dr. McGougan is an Ordained minister with the Assemblies of God
and has been in full-time ministry since 1972. During that time, he has
ministered in Washington State; Missouri; Florida; British Columbia,
Canada; and then back to Florida.
He has directed and traveled in
musical evangelism teams; taught at Southeastern University;
Malisapina College; and Selkirk College; established biblical counseling
ministries; and served as guest speaker at conferences, camps and
retreats; and as a chaplain at Hope Hospice; but his passion and calling
is pastoring and teaching and training people for the work of the ministry.
Pastor and Laura have been married for over 40 years and are blessed
to have three daughters: Mary, Barbara, and Jamie and four grandkids;
Josiah, Rankin, Abby, and Ainsley.
Laura is also a credentialed minister with the Assemblies of God
and, along with her multifaceted role as pastor’s wife and her care
and compassion for people, she also supports the ministry here at
Victory by working outside the home for the Lee County Sheriff’s
office.
Together their desire is to Love God,
Love their Neighbor, and Share the Good News, and to lead others to do the same.
